Alison Parker

Alison Parker was born and raised in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.  She is currently sophomore at the
University of Pittsburgh.  She learned to play the violin at the age of 6, starting with the classical Suzuki method. 
She got into old-time and bluegrass through her father and also from attending the Blue Heron music festival
every summer and attending fiddle workshops taught by Keith McManus.  Some of Alison's musical influences are
Bobby Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Mark O'Connor, Donna the Buffalo, Tommy Jarrell,
John Morris, Joe Thrift, Bob Dylan, and The Avett Brothers.
